The Benz Bench & Table, for example, combine fun and function while still being made of recyclable materials:

Although the bench & table are designed for kids and made of cardboard, the bench can carry as much as 120kg! A parent can sit next to their child to check up on homework, admire drawings, or share in playtime!

The bench also has a storage container under the seat, making it the perfect place to store toys or other supplies. Because they are made of cardboard, they are super lightweight and easy to carry and move around the house…and you only need a wet-wipe to clean them!

Caroline Gomez is a French artist who designs beautiful and simple furniture and small items. Her products aren’t necessarily for children, but their versatility allows them to be used in almost any room of the house.

The clean and simple lines of the designs, together with the natural lightness of the wood make the furniture such pleasant additions to the room!

In addition to furniture and other smaller products, Caroline also designs textiles, like the tent above, and takes beautiful photographs.

What we’re reading (or trying to create!!)

This was posted quite some time ago, but we are seriously in love with this idea! Travel sized paper cities are a great way to keep kids entertained, and they can bring out the inner artist in all of us!

These are great to bring to a restaurant, on a plane/train/bus, or anywhere where the little ones might get a bit antsy. It would be great for building up excitement for a trip, or for remembering the great memories of a past trip.

Why we love Life Style Illustrated:

L.S. Illustrated is not your typical fashion design blog! Created and written by the wonderfully talented Pia Ugarte, all of the ‘photos’ on the blog are actually hand drawn illustrations! The blog isn’t just about fashion either…Pia covers topics like music, movies, books, cocktail bars….anything that inspires her! She chooses colors that are vibrant and fresh, and its just such a fun blog to spend some time on!

What we’re reading:

This weekend we experienced a major pancake craving (thanks Aunt Jemima!) and we were so happy to find out that we’re not the only ones!

After eating our own sky high stack of pancakes, one look at this made us hungry ALL OVER AGAIN!! At least she made a ‘healthier’ option! (We chose bacon instead of fruits ha ha!)

Why we love City Baby Living:

CityBaby Living is a great website that most of us out there can relate to and use for inspiration. Living in a city usually means you give up the Big House for the Apartment, which means sacrificing SPACE! The result is that many items become chosen because of function over form, and versatility over design. CityBaby Living celebrates the relationship between small spaces and great design. Its an amazing and very useful website for us apartment dwellers!

What we’re reading:

A very common problem people living in apartments are faced with is the lack of a bathtub. While this might not seem like a big deal (whats wrong with a standup shower??), its quite difficult when you’re trying to give a squirming baby a bath! Luckily, you can find things like this Prince Lionheart Flexi Bath Tub.

Not only can you fold it up and put it away when you’re not using it (great space saver) but you can also use it as storage when the baby no longer needs it!

What we’re reading:

We love cuddly little stuffed toys, and these stuffed owls from Wassup Brothers are TOO amazing!

The stuffed owls (and other animals) are made from found and re-purposed sweaters and other fabrics.

What is even better than a cute cushion for the house? A cute cushion with a mustache.

I’m not even going to pretend that this is for the kids. This is totally for me!

These BlaBla pillows are so much fun and so whimsical! I love every one of these pillows!
